Ceramic Footed Centrepiece by Ettore Sottsass for Bitossi

About the Item

A modern made hand turned red clay bowl by Bitossi of Italy in a design by Ettore Sottsass (1917-2007). The hand crafted piece has been finished in a two tone matte white and indigo blue glaze and has been signed to the underside 'E.Sottsass Bitossi.Montelupo'. The piece retains its original retailing box and authenticity card from the Bitossi factory. The Bitossi family have been documented in the Montelupo Fiorentino region in Tuscany as far back as 1536. Their association with Ettore Sottsass started in 1955 and they continue to produce Sottsass designs in the current day, all made by hand. Measures - 29.5cm D x 22cm H
