“In the way they dress or decorate their homes, the French have an innate ability to create an intoxicating mix of finesse and quiet swank,” says the New York–born, Paris-based David Jimenez, whose design for this Right Bank apartment pays beautiful tribute to Gallic savoir vivre. Pairing certified classics (a camel leather Louis XV fauteuil from Yveline Antiques, a Maison Jansen coffee table, a parchment screen) with a gallery-style installation of drawings and sculpture, Jimenez evokes the cerebral glamour of Yves Saint Laurent, whose former fashion atelier is just a few blocks away. And his ball-gown-style drapery treatment? Vintage Yves, he says: “I found a local seamstress to create the voluminous pleated burlap (known as toile de jute) curtains, which create a romantic backdrop to the living room.”

“Home is where you feel good, protected and where you can express yourself freely. One of my biggest pleasures is helping someone create a home tailored and made to measure to their own way of living, their tastes and preferences.”
