In one corner of the Manhattan office of Yellow House Architects hangs a reproduction of the artwork after which the firm is named, a Van Gogh painting depicting the home he rented in Arles in 1888. Van Gogh envisioned the residence as a collective where he and fellow artists could live and paint together, and Yellow House founder and principal Elizabeth Graziolo established her business on the same principle. “We aimed to design a vibrant, collaborative space that serves as a creative haven, fostering imagination, innovation and meaningful dialogue,” she says. “The design captures this spirit by blending eclectic elements thoughtfully sourced from diverse cultures and design traditions.” Her favorite piece in the Flatiron District space is the cerused-oak dining table by Julian Chichester, which serves as a platform for design charrettes, as well as a gathering place for client meetings and lively dinner parties. “This table isn’t just furniture — it’s the foundation where ideas come to life and connections are made,” Graziolo says. Among the team’s most treasured items is the Diego Giacometti-style plaster chandelier from Lerebours Antiques, which is suspended above a coffee table by J.M. Szymanski and a Moroccan rug, both found on 1stDibs.
