Signed, titled, and dated in pencil by the artist
One of a series of drawings, all made in 1970, which stemmed from Hogue's interest in Persian calligraphy. He studied this art at the New York Public Library in the early 1920s while working as a hand-lettering specialist, according to Susie Kalil, author of "Alexandre Hogue: An American Visionary" (Texas A&M University Press, 2010).
