Tracy Crump is a self-taught artist born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. At a younger age Tracy kept her art hidden, because to her it was her private diary. Today, Tracy describes her work as a gift that was laid upon her; a gift that she understands should be shared with the world. Tracy’s limited plan of action approach reveals her range of style from washed out cloudy paintings to realistic portraits. "Even I, with the hands that created my own work, find it hard to understand why I create the art I do. I don’t have a great explanation for each piece. Most all my life I’ve been searching for its purpose." She currently resides in the Chicago area where she continues to paint and draw unique and diverse figures.
