David Hall McKewan studied watercolor painting under David Cox (the elder) and exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1836. He became a full member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water-colours in 1850 where he exhibited often.

David Hall Mckewan
David Hall McKewan was a painter and watercolorist known for his landscapes. McKewan exhibited drawings in London at the Royal Academy from 1837–49 and Suffolk Street until 1844. McKewan became a member of the Institute of Painters in Watercolours in 1848. Some of his work is currently in the collection of Cardiff Museum.
