This painting depicts the view from one of Carol Moore's regular morning walks on Bernal Hill in San Francisco. The work is part of her cargo ship series. In these pieces Carol embeds maps and guitar strings to show the music of our one world, and the exchange of ideas and materials that support our lives.
About the Artist
Carole Moore works as a massage therapist and finds a lot of inspiration in her various clients. Art is something she needs to do - she feels irritated when she goes without painting for too long. Oftentimes, she sits on her feet while painting and does not notice they are asleep until she tries to get up. She enjoys spending time with her family, tending her garden and rock climbing. Carole currently lives in California, but was an exchange student in Mexico and Japan and was highly influenced by both cultures.

- Large Animal Wall Sculpture: 'Wormhole'By Gin StoneLocated in New York, NY'I am a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on ecofeminism using fiber and mixed media constructions. My materials include hand-dyed commercially fished line and ghost gear, recycled and antique textiles, fabric printed with cyanotype emulsions and found objects. I change the existing surface of recognizable animals by creating a veneer of unexpected color and imagery. This forces the viewer to consider the shape more carefully by visually exploring its new topography.
