About the Item
Born in 1968, Delphine Housard de La Potterie was first a lawyer before becoming an artist. Those two professions far from being antagonistic, have in common imagination and the power of words.
For personal reasons, dhdlp moved to Hong-Kong, then London, where she decided to change career path and to study Design. She developed a passion for colours and shapes, which led her to become an Interior Designer. In her new job, dhdlp started creating moodboards which initiated her love for collage. Fully aware on how colours and words can impact people, her collages are the means by which she expresses herself.
Like witnesses of a world in perpetual motion, her collages are comparable to newspapers articles narrating our time and can be interpreted as satire of modern society.

comment of the artist :
Collage on the place of women in society, showing that their emancipation, that their behavior has changed, their aspirations are different. We find in this collage, some symbols or characters that I take regularly, like the stars that represent for me the imaginative, the dream.
Recurring character in my collages, "The Queen" that I always speak with a smile and with always a sarcastic touch, typical example in this collage where she answers to a person who is not happy with these new aspirations of women: "they do not make'em liked they used to ", I make her speak in English not at all punished and not at all royal, something that would sound like and yes we do not do them as before ... and obviously, she spreads the "LOVE" (L "Love") with a smile ...
