About the Item
Domestic use of rattan is as old as human inhabitation of tropical
forests around the world. Used here by the Toraja women of Sulawesi,
Indonesia originally to create fishing baskets and repurposed as a
light shade, these baskets continue to provide for the Sulawesi
families by catching light instead of fish. Available with or without
rice paper lining.

Tina West + Tucker Robbins 2020
The Robin Rice Gallery is pleased to present a photographic exhibition by Tina West, featuring a special new collaboration between Robin Rice and furniture designer, activist Tucker Robbins. Jessica Kravitz of Exalted Alchemy created an aromatic experience exclusively for the exhibition. The installation was designed by sculptor Amy Pilkington. This is Tina West’s seventh solo exhibition at the Robin Rice Gallery and Tucker Robbins’ first collaboration with Robin Rice.
