About the Item
"Four Charge Clouds" a geometric abstract painting made in 2019 by Amanda Andersen, initialed on the back. This was one of the first pieces that began a body of work inspired by ordinary object arrangements such as table-top still lives. The objects were simplified drastically into outlines, overlapping each other to form a unifying connection.
This piece has a solid light green / sage background with thin outlined shapes in burnt orange/ dark peach, dark green, black and cloud blue. This was all hand painted and none of the lines are perfectly straight, lending it character.
Acrylic paint on white acid free, archival paper.
Original will be shipped flat in a box from Hamburg.
Optional frame: artwork will ship without a frame unless you wish a frame, please contact us if you are interested in the white frame as pictured for an additional but minimal fee.
(The frame is made from solid wood and has an acrylic front.)

Amanda Andersen
Based out of a poorly heated–yet cozy attic studio bordering the icy waters of Northern Europe, Amanda has been working for over 10 years as a professional artist; creating paintings as well as artist books and digital artworks. Working mostly in acrylic paint on canvas, she makes minimal compositions with sprinklings of high contrast patterns and color. Using minimalist strategies, she pedals between the abstract and figurative. Inspired by the rigid lines of Agnes Martin and organic forms of Eva Hesse, she also adores fantasy films, surrealism, brutalist architecture and a really smooth gradient. Amanda is also an illustrator and animator creating works under digital pseudonym We Throw Rocks, setting paintings in motion. Her work has shown internationally, including: the Kunstraum Kreuzberg in Berlin, Tiny Creatures in Los Angeles, the National Centre for Contemporary Arts State Museum in St Petersburg. Her most recent exhibition was completely virtual; Flora | Fauna hosted by Tez1and, presented by CleanNFTs and Teia.
Amanda received a BFA in Illustration from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon, and completed a MA at the Universität der Künste Berlin, Germany. Her work has been featured in Art Review, Art Kunstmagazin and is held in many private collections as well as the MOMA Art Library and MACBA Barcelona.
