Unique.
The French artist, Jules Dedet Granel, aka L’Atlas, born in 1978, found in his research around writing the starting point for his work in the fine and pictorial arts.
He studied calligraphy in different countries and cultures, in this way creating his own original fonts. He was particularly interested in the idea of creating a universal pictorial language, a balance between form and letter, between act and intent; a game with endless variations, drawing near and diverging from optical art and the abstract and geometric art movements. In the 90s, he took radical action in the public sphere, making a name for himself in the field of graffiti; as of 2000, he developed studio work and exhibited his works in contemporary urban art galleries.
A major figure and internationally renowned street artist, he is known for his painted facades and for his monumental performances carried out directly on the ground on historical sites in cities, like with the immense compass commissioned by the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris in 2008, or at the Place du Capitole in 2012, in partnership with the city of Toulouse. These performances are captured frame by frame by the artist in video recordings.
He has also collaborated with brands such as Perrier whose mythical bottles he adorned with “Poptic’art”, a movement mixing optical and pop art that he is considered to have coined; and Agnès b., adding his touch to the clothes of the designer, one of his most loyal collectors.
L’Atlas is unique in that he researches and systematically renews his approach and his expression of the letter and the line, of the codified rhythm of writing, searching for the limits of illegibility and methodically leading his work towards abstraction and minimalism; he considers all form as letter and all letter as form, which has recently led him to work with urban planners to give a third dimension to his art and reinvest the public space in another way, thus restoring meaning to the architectural dimension of his work.
Today he is an artist whose rigorous work justifies the success he has met with collectors, the public and institutions.

L'Atlas
Jules Dedet Granel, also known under the pseudonym, L’ATLAS, is recognized for his distinct style that blends calligraphic graffiti with geometric abstraction. Interested in calligraphy, L’ATLAS studied under Arabic calligraphy masters such as Hassan Massoudy and Mouneer Al-Shaarani in Morocco and Egypt, later using these traditional techniques in the street art scene in Paris. In his pursuit of a common visual language, L’ATLAS emphasizes the dislocation and breakdown of borders. Works such as Seal 12 (2018) use two colors to express duality, purity, the essence of the idea, and the calligrapher’s mark. His interests in geometric abstraction and Sufism produce a visual language that is inspired by and deviates from optical art and abstract art traditions, often working with transparent tape and spray paint or ink on paper and canvas. L’ATLAS designed the logo for the brand Fenty. His work has been commissioned by the Centre Pompidou and the Place du Capitole in Toulouse.

- Caught In A WebBy Paul EckeLocated in Miami, FLVintage comic books and mixed media on panel Paul Ecke is a mid-career painter of contemporary non-figurative and figurative works on canvas and panel. His works are an amalgam of color, texture, and movement achieved through the application of oil and acrylic paints to canvas, all applied by brush, hand, and even trowel. The results are magnificent, colorful, thought and emotion-provoking images that convey the inner strength, conviction, and complexity of the artist. Paul Ecke was educated at California State University, Fullerton, receiving degrees in art with an emphasis in ceramic arts and painting. His classical training taught him to represent the human form. His skill as a ceramicist affects his paintings, giving them a three-dimensional quality through the application of textural media to his works on canvas. Ecke with his newest series “Comic Strip” can be described as a means of creating laughter and nostalgia. The collection is intended to engage the viewer in conversation. The heroes and villains in the different comic strips create magical fantasies that are rhetorical exaggerations. For decades, scholars have been making the connection between the design of the superhero story and the mythology of the ancient folktale. The comics become epic storytelling. The artist has created works of art that are a combination of vintage comic collaging, texture, and paint. Ecke's works are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Manila, Philippines and the Daytona Florida Museum of Arts and Science. He has shown in galleries in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Diego, Palm Springs, Florida, the Philippines and Bali, Indonesia. His works are in many private and corporate collections including those of Universal Studios, Jimmy Z Sportswear, Taco Bell, Flojet Corporation, Carsey Warner Productions and Dionne Warwick...Category
