"Yin Yang" was inspired by the balance and light I gain from my meditation practice. Using brilliant and vivid colors, "Yin Yang" presents both a balance of strokes whose color complexity increases into a vivid subject matter. Yin Yang represents balance and imbalance, presence and absence, chaos and organization within the perfect circular geometry (of wholeness or oneness). To complete the work, the frame has a colored stripe surrounding it which is technically infinite since it goes around the circle without beginning or end. In turn, the stripe provides viewers with not only a variety of perspectives of the work as they see the striped frame with different colors, but also with a visual surprise when the work, along with the colored stripe, and the shadow from the light create an illusion of shape, color, balance, and light from the art work they view, "Yin Yang."
