This realistic equine piece, "After the Bath", by artist Dahl Taylor is a 24x34 oil painting on canvas featuring a brown horse after bath time, coat glistening in the warm sunlight. Stables show in the background. This is a glimpse into the behind the scenes at the Saratoga Race Course. Loose brushstrokes create interest throughout the painting and the background is simplified to make the horse front and center. About the artist: Over 30 years Taylor has worked on a wide variety of projects. Taylor has concentrated on illustration assignments for national corporate & publishing clients and museums. Commissioned portraits include the official portrait of a former NYS Attorney General, which hangs in the N Y State Capitol, and portraits for major institutional & corporate collections. Taylor has created paintings for limited edition prints for the National Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial & the U.S. Navy Memorial, both located in Washington, D.C Artwork for several Broadway plays include the Tony-nominated ‘Having Our Say’ & a Neil Simon play. Exhibit work includes the N Y State Museum, Mystic Seaport, several N Y State Historic Sites & a 36’ long Veterans mural for the State University of N Y. Taylor’s work has also appeared on the pages of numerous magazines including Money, Forbes, Readers’ Digest and The New Yorker. Corporate clients include General Electric, GATX Corporation, Ralph Lauren, BMG Music, Sam Adams, IBM, Bacardi & American Express. Shows include a one-man show at the Society of Illustrators and 15 international marine art shows at the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport. Taylor has been represented in galleries throughout New England.
