About the Item

Oil painting of horses and hounds set on a country road, this is a contemporary 20th century landscape painting in excellent condition. The color is crisp featuring a central white horse and traditional rider in red jacket and black riding cap, and beagle dogs. The artist, Kenneth Shone (20th century), is known for his paintings of fox hunts with horses and dogs with country landscape background. This is a well priced painting on canvas with a contemporary gold frame. Signed by the artist lower right, the painting has three horses and several beagle dogs set on a country lane with deep shadows, blue skies with clouds, grasses to tree line and a pond. The canvas sight is 24" high by 35" wide, and is 32" by 44" including the frame with white linen inset in the framing. No craquelure, rip or repair visible. Presented well, ready to hang.
