About the Item
River is often associated as the sustainers of life and fertility, the irreversible passage of time, and a sense of change leading to loss, and death.
But in this work, a river is much more than water flowing to the sea.
Shifting of course and changing color is a natural tendency, but sometimes it will be a strong erosional force that can devastate and disappear a human civilization. River picks its path and there's nothing individuals can do to stop it.
Female representation in my work takes its inspiration from One of the most iconic works of revolutionary painting Liberty Leading The People by Delacroix, a commemorating
the July Revolution in French history. The nude to the waist female figure is a classical symbol used throughout the history of art. She is normally depicted as a passive figure, a clear symbol of liberty and reason by becoming a fighter, a warrior, and a leader. It is all about the history of the fight for identity, and equality which is passed down from generation to generation and we are still fighting to date to redefine our existing status.
