Ravi Chaurasiya Population with Garbage 2018
2018
About the Item
The city we live in today. We can call it a city of buildings, of people. In this work, the garbage stack can be in the surroundings of your city.
Chaurasiya experiments with his mediums, using unconventional materials like matchsticks and motherboards to create a cultural commentary on our decaying natural surroundings. His works are visualizations representing various dimensions of pollution, climate change, population, and phenomena contributing to a deplorable dystopia.“With the excessive use of technology at their disposal, humans today have lost some vital connection with the other sentient beings and the environment at large.” he says.

- River can change its colour, River can change its courseLocated in Stamford, CTRiver is often associated as the sustainers of life and fertility, the irreversible passage of time, and a sense of change leading to loss, and death. But in this work, a river is much more than water flowing to the sea. Shifting of course and changing color is a natural tendency, but sometimes it will be a strong erosional force that can devastate and disappear a human civilization. River picks its path and there's nothing individuals can do to stop it. Female representation in my work takes its inspiration from One of the most iconic works of revolutionary painting...Category
