Charles Ford's work is in the permanent collection of the Museum of the City of New York. This painting depicts S&S nail salon in New York City. From the gates to the "No Parking" sign to the worn looking store sign, you get a great feel for the city and the time of day this painting was created by Mr Ford's wonderful use of cast shadows. For you cat lovers, he has also hidden a sweet little kitty. His "City Paintings" have a very realistic color palette, very true to life. His colors aren't exaggerated and distorted so that they do not become the subject of the canvas, his imagery becomes the subject, and his true to life color and expert technique capture the viewers attention. This painting on Masonite measures 17x26x1.5" and was painted in 2007.
