David Tress
St. Martin, Haverfordwest, Wales Mixed Media Landscape with impasto on Paper.

20 th century

About the Item

This is the wonderful Pembrokeshire artist David Tress and this is a piece fairly near to him both geographically and inspirationally! It is St. Martin in Haverfordwest. A mixed media, mostly watercolour with heavy oil impasto layered over, signed and framed. Tress is very much an investment buy - he is represented by all the major galleries and his prices and profile have been rising steadily. David Tress (Born 1955) David Tress is a British painter noted particularly for his deeply personal interpretations of landscapes in and around his home in Pembrokeshire, southwest Wales. He combines the techniques of collage and impasto with conventional painting and drawing to produce results that have been categorized as a form of abstract expressionism. This painting has the very feel of Pembrokeshire and best viewed with a glass of red wine and maybe listening to a little Van Morrison (yes I know he's Irish but it just works!)

Villa Balbianello is one of the most famous landmarks in the Italian Lakes and is renowned for its beauty. Much of Rene's recent work has been whilst on location in Italy where he spends much of his time, he starts with a series of small pencil sketches...
