Fernand Laval (1886-1966) Paris School Art Deco Period La fete des Loges 1929 A delightful post impressionist painting of a fairground scene in Loges, northern France. Painted using a heavy impasto, signed and inscribed verso. Laval moved to Paris in 1912 where he befriended Maurice Utrillo at the famous “Lapin Agile”. The pair travelled the streets of Montmartre together capturing cityscapes. In 1920 he made his first appearance at the Salon d’Automne. Condition In good sound original condition, the frame is also probably original. Size 37cm x 34cm (41cm x 38cm framed) 14.5 x 13.5 inches (16 x 15 inches framed)
