About the Item
Here for your consideration is a large early 20th century painting a a large varied group of figures looking out to sea on a beach. Oil on wooden panel; circa 1930. Signed “Le Saux” lower right. Condition is excellent. The painting is housed in an ornate gold frame with white linen liner in fine condition. Overall framed measurements are 23.25 by 27.25 inches. Provenance: A Sarasota, Florida collector.
J. Le Saux was a French artist known for his figural beach paintings in a post impressionist style. His paintings have often been compared to those of Eugene Boudin, the famous French painter who painted similar beach paintings.
