About the Item
A fine large full-length portrait of an English Setter stud in a landscape. Painted by J C Wilson in 1921, this oil gouache oil on canvas is a beautiful depiction of the breed. The dog's name is Glaisnock Jim. He was born in 1913 and his parents were Craigmalloch Lad (sire) and Glaisnock Molly (dam). More details can easily be found on the internet. A very handsome beast who no doubt fathered some gorgeous puppies.
Signed and dated lower right with dog's name lower left.
Provenance. Southern collection.
Condition. Oil/gouache on canvas. Unframed size is 32 inches by 22 inches and in excellent condition.
Housed in a fine gallery frame. Framed size is 40 inches by 30 inches. In good condition.
