About the Item
Oh how we miss those sunny, bustling days in Washington Square NW! Exams and deadlines were on everyone's mind but the warmth had begun to nourish our souls and the musicians had begun to fill the park with creative sounds! With endless brushstrokes, sometimes abstracted to their most minimum, internationally trending artist, Sonia Grineva, has created an abstract expressionist landscape that to many worldwide represents a NYC landscape but also paradise. This 24x30 original oil painting is 30x36 as framed in a popular scoop frame with an edging that accentuates the activity throughout the composition. Sonia Grineva earned both her Bachelors and Masters at the famed Strogonov Art Institute before coming to Manhattan to study at the National Academy of Design. The recognition her work received lead to a subsequent scholarship to further advance her skills at the British Institute in Florence, Italy. Her world wide attention has included shows at Time Warner, Forbes, Pfizer, the Standard Club, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Villa d'Este and numerous other prestigious venues. She currently spends most of her time in her studio in Capri, Italy where she has been featured in local magazines and shows as well as throughout Italy.

Sonia Grineva
Sonia Grineva is originally from Moscow, where she was educated at the leading art school, the Stroganov Institute, earning both a bachelor’s degree and masters of fine art. Her subsequent studies at the National Academy of Design in NYC earned her extensive accolades including a scholarship to continue her studies in Florence, Italy, at the British Institute. Her work has been widely shown from the Vatican to Pfizer to Time Warner to the Harvard and Yale Clubs to the White House. She maintains studios both in Manhattan and Capri, Italy.
