About the Item
Signed lower right, Archivally Matted to 17.75 x 16.75 inches.
A noble portrait of Ike as President is depicted against a ringing Liberty Bell. In the distance, a wide view of the American landscape from coast to coast is shown with regional industries. There's a lot of detail to squeeze into a 9" x 9" space. Ernest Hamlin Baker does it with a supreme degree of artistic skill. Although not as well known today, Ernest Hamlin Baker talent rivals that of Lucian Freud and Andrew Wyeth. He illustrated more than 300 covers for Time magazine.
Work is archivally matted but not framed.
