Gianluca Corona
Gianluca Corona is an Italian realist artist, born in 1969, in Milan, where he still lives and works. He graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, in 1991. From 1994–96, he further trained as an apprentice, in the studio of Mario Donizetti, in Bergamo. Following his studies, he started his professional career, establishing himself on the artistic scene, as a leading figure of the young Italian figurative art movement. He has held several exhibitions in Italy and abroad and his works are present in public, as well as private collections globally. His paintings are continuously used by the record company, Musicmedia, to illustrate the covers of their CDs. His works have been praised by some of the most important Italian critics, such as Alberto Agazzani, Franco Basile, Graziano Campanini, Vladek Cwalinski, Carlo Franza, Gilberto Grilli, Gianfranco Lelj, Mario Marcarini, Pietro C. Marani, Alessandro Riva and Maurizio Sciaccaluga. Corona’s artworks are inspired by the great masters of the 1500s and 1600s, however, he can offer a contemporary re-reading of both still life and portrait genres. He is, therefore, able to combine traditional materials and techniques with a contemporary fresh and unique interpretation of his subjects, as such, he is one of the most popular contemporary Italian painters in the still-life genre.

- Mighty oak on a gold-leaf background by Italian botanical artistBy Margherita LeoniLocated in Milan, ITThe artist has an elegant mark of nature, and the experience of working en plein air allows her to capture emotions that would otherwise not be possible. She is considered Italy's best botanical artist and collaborates with many botanical gardens where she also holds watercolour courses, a technique she masters like few contemporary artists. The artist herself prepared the background in real, stainless gold, which gives it a modern, warm surface that chameleonically matches the colours of the surrounding walls. Margherita Leoni was born and raised in Italy, however, she spent most of her adult life in San Paulo, Brazil. It was there that she started a collaboration with the botanical faculty of the local university, allowing her to develop interesting research in rare botanical species studies and drawings. For this reason, most of her artworks, illustrate Brasilian botanical species, both rare and common. The artist's mastery of watercolour allows her to take part in botanical expeditions where she paints in plein air. Given her exquisite watercolour technique and her extensive botanical knowledge, Margherita Leoni is considered the heir of Margaret Mee. Among her most important exhibitions, three of her artworks were selected by Shirley Sherwood...Category

- Pure WhiteLocated in Woodbury, CTOil on canvas, signed and dated 2016. French handmade wooden Delf raised panel frame, gold leaf and green patina on red bolus background. Unframed size: 25.6 inches high x 21.3 inches wide. Framed size: 33.5 inches high x 29.2 inches wide x 1.13 inches deep. Sold framed. The true colors of the painting are shown in photos #1 and 2. With its mostly white tones and intricate, textured background, this work is nearly a complete departure from the artist’s other paintings. Although it is executed in a powerful chiaroscuro from a classical point of view, the counterpoint of contemporary objects with the vibrant colors make this painting distinctly modern. Green cabbage and spring onions “pop” against the simple white enameled jug...Category

- Grapes and French CheeseLocated in Woodbury, CTOil on panel, signed and dated 2001. French wooden frame in ivory with gold leaf. Unframed size: 19.7 inches high x 23.6 inches wide. Framed size: 26.4 inches high x 30.5 inches wide x 1 inch deep. Sold framed. The first Eyckmans’ painting to employ a brighter, golden palette, this everyday kitchen scene explores the differing textures of the objects within. The artist’s love of all things French is exemplified here with antique pottery, a starched linen tablecloth, breadboard and, of course, fruit and favorite cheeses. Note the superb shadowing of the board extending over the table, the detailing in the chèvre and paper wrapping to the left, and the asymmetrical cluster of stemmed Muscat grapes, all illuminated by easterly light. Classical in perspective and execution, but with a more contemporary feel that derives from the use of color and light, this painting marks a transformational point in the artist’s work. This painting is available for viewing at The Elemental Garden...Category
