About the Item
This gouache features delicate spring flowers in a French pot from the "Pharmacie Daguin in St Maur Creteil" (Paris suburbs). It is painted on Bristol board.
Mary Faulconer (1911–2011) is an artist of real elegance in the finest American tradition. She combines early American primitivism, trompe l'oeil and a magical super-realism, which in spite of her careful attention to detail, remains fresh and charming and not at all obsessive or rigid
Her freelance illustration work has appeared in Fortune, House and Garden, Life, Look, Seventeen, Town and Country, and Vogue magazines. She also designed the 1978 Rose Stamp for the United States Postal Service, first United States multi-color stamp in booklet form.
Among her credits is a painting reproduced for UNICEF in 1972 and a commission to design six postage stamps for the United States.

- "The Arno" Italian Village by the River Oil Painting by Bruce McCrackenLocated in Pasadena, CAThis oil painting from the 65s by California Artist Bruce McCracken derives its title and inspiration from the mythical Arno River in Tuscany. Dividing the historic city of Florence into two distinct parts, the Arno has long captivated the collective imagination and continues to be a subject of exploration for many contemporary artists. Set against the backdrop of the Arno's picturesque banks, the artist likely sought inspiration from the vantage point of the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) in Florence. The painting is divided into two distinct horizons. The upper section showcases architectural buildings poised upon a medieval arch...Category
