About the Item

Beautiful pair of still lives ascribed to N. Stanchi, realized in the second half of 17th century. Both in very good conditions, they include a contemporary wooden gilded frame. Dimensions are: - Vertical Still Life: 42 x 3 x 32.5 cm. - Horizontal Still Life: 32 x 2.8 x 42 cm. They both come with a international passport. Niccolò Stanchi (1623-1690) A Master of Still Lives mainly famous for his representation of flowers, he joined the group of painter who decorated the Galleria Borghese in Roma. In this occasion Stanchi was committed to realize decorations of wreath of flowers on mirrors.The Stanchi brothers, (Niccolò had two brothers painters as well, Giovanni and Angelo), constituted one of the most fervent workshops of still lifes in Baroque Rome starting from 1630.
