He later became a teacher, which he did for only one year. He left for the Far East where he met his wife and muse Jeane in Singapore. That meeting would be a real turning point in his life, Jeane and Nico are inseparable after their meeting and he makes around 6000 paintings depicting her. Nico Vrielink's work is part of important Museum collections, corporate and private collections and six books have now been published about the work and life of this exceptional artist. His paintings are sold worldwide and he has exhibited more than 500 times, including in cities such as San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Las Vegas, Miami, Hawaii, Washington DC, Berlin, Frankfurt, Djakarta, Singapore, Shanghai , Beijing, Amsterdam, London, Brussels, Paris, Vienna, Toronto and Sydney.
