About PLASTIC RORSCHACH Series
Inspired by a psychological test developed by a Swiss psychiatrist named Hermann Rorschach, Han crumpled plastic bags and presented them in the form of bilateral symmetry. Just like Rorschach test through which we understand one’s temperament and subconsciousness while he or she perceive the atypical shapes created by folding a paper in half after dropping ink blots, the work metaphorically points out the stereotypical idea that is too dominant but also becomes fragile once the true reality is revealed.

ARTIST STATEMENT
All the facts are relevant. One fact can be interpreted in several ways depending on our perception, and from opposite views, two different facts can look the same. My work deals with perception and optics. Humans rely on the visual sense more than any other sense when perceiving the world. This 'seeing' behavior plays a very important role in my work. I want to show the reality that the world can only be interpreted at a subjective point of view, and it is impossible to maintain objectivity. All works have different standards which makes a unique system. I visualize this system to give an idea that how we perceive this world without any doubt.
