Terry O’Neill is one of the world’s most collected photographers whose work is shown in national art galleries and private collections worldwide. For over six decades, he has photographed the frontline of fame, from the greats of screen and stage to presidents, prime ministers and rock stars.
No other living photographer has embraced the span of fame, capturing the icons of our age from from Frank Sinatra and Elvis to Amy Winehouse, from Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot to Fay Dunaway, as well as every James Bond from Sean Connery to Pierce Brosnan.

Terry O'Neill
Terry O’Neill was one of the world’s most collected photographers, with work hanging in national art galleries and private collections worldwide. From presidents to pop stars, he photographed the frontline of fame for over six decades.
O’Neill began his career at the birth of the 1960s. While other photographers concentrated on earthquakes, wars and politics, O’Neill realized that youth culture was a breaking news story on a global scale and began chronicling the emerging faces of film, fashion and music who would go on to define the Swinging Sixties. By 1965 he was being commissioned by the biggest magazines and newspapers in the world.
No other photographer embraced the span of fame as O'Neill had, capturing the icons of our age from Winston Churchill to Nelson Mandela, from Frank Sinatra and Elvis to Amy Winehouse, from Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot to Nicole Kidman, as well as every James Bond from Sean Connery to Daniel Craig.
O’Neill photographed The Beatles and The Rolling Stones when they were still struggling young bands in 1963 and pioneered backstage reportage photography with David Bowe, Elton John, The Who, Eric Clapton and Chuck Berry. His images have adorned historic rock albums, movie posters and international magazine covers.

Chaim Jacob Lipchitz, 1891-1973, was born in Lithuania and came of age in Paris during the early 20th century, where he was active in the avante-garde community of Pablo Picasso, Amedeo Modigliani, Diego Rivera, Chaim Soutine, and Juan Gris. Art historian H. H. Arnason, who ranked Lipchitz with Picasso and Marc Chagall, wrote, "Lipchitz, as a pure sculptor, is ...unquestionably one of the greatest sculptors of this century." The architect Philip Johnson asked Lipchitz to make a wall sculpture to be placed on the brick chimney over a fireplace of a guest house owned by Mrs. John D. Rockefeller III on West 53rd Street in New York. Lipchitz decided to develop the piece from his Pegasus designs and call it Birth of the Muses in honor of the Rockefellers' interest in the arts.
