About the Item
This 15.5" x 12.5" black and white vintage photograph depicts a dramatic bird's-eye view of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California. The composition shows the bridge vertically, as the bridge continues further into the background towards the city. Many cars are seen driving across the bridge, to and from San Fransisco. There is one boat in the water below the bridge, on the left side of the composition, headed towards the right side. These vessels pictured, both cars and boat, represent the prosperity and economy of the city, showing the common characteristics of everyday life. However, the focus of the composition is the bridge, which specifically acts as a characterization of societal functions within San Francisco. The bridge itself also stands as a symbol for innovation within architectural engineering and the city's growth and ability. The city is pictured in the distance, past the bridge, creating a sense of awe and imagination as to what's on the other side of the bridge. The perspective within the photo is specifically from the left side of the bridge, atop the two steel curved rods that hold the suspension cables to the bridge, creating the bird's-eye view effect. The photograph is bordered by a black wooden frame.

- 'Outdoor Street Scene', by Sonya Terpening, Watercolor on PaperBy Sonya TerpeningLocated in Oklahoma City, OKSonya Terpening's framed watercolor on paper painting titled 'Outdoor Street Scene' captures a calm scene outside of a cafe. The dining table depicted in the work becomes the focal point when observing this piece, as it is placed in the foreground and captures the eye with a vivid blue table cloth; on the table are four glasses placed upside-down and what appears to be a sugar and salt shaker. Terpening's realistic style is exemplified in her depiction of the table; the blue cloth's folds and wrinkles, and the heavy use of shadows and lighting on the table cloth, chairs, and glasses all contribute to the realistic qualities of the piece. The table is positioned on a red brick sidewalk/street directly outside of the cafe, which is also brick but painted white. The cafe door...Category
