(PHILOSOPHER READING) ca 1700
Etching on thin laid paper attached to support sheet at the top sheet edge verso.
Very good impression in good condition. Trimmed within the plate mark but outside the border line.
Very nice and skillfully executed etching of a period subject. Rare, it seems to be uncatalogued.
Note: This etching was also attributed to Bartholomaus Ignaz Weiss (German 1740- 1814) by a colleague
But I believe it is earlier.
