Fisherman Three is an original 1939 signed etching by the American artist John E. Costigan
( 1888-1972 ) a self-taught painter and printmaker. The locale for Costigan’s best-known painting was his own farm in Orangeburg, N.Y. His most frequent theme was life on the farm. In this image Costigan used his three children fishing in a stream that ran thru their property. Fisherman Three is illustrated in Thomas Cravens ” A Treasury of American Prints ” plate #26. Signed in pencil J. E. Costigan N. A. and in excellent condition. paper size 12.25 x 15 image size is 9.50 x 12.25
