The Tarahumara are one of the largest indigenous tribes in North America, with a population of nearly 100,000 people. The Tarahumara are known for their long-distance running ability. They are said to be able to run hundreds of miles without stretching, working out, or protecting their feet. Some say the Tarahumara defy every known rule of physical conditioning.
