Hee Kyung Kim
Bloom

About the Item

Hee Kyung Kim portrays the moment of life, the breath of nature, and the moments of self-unification with 'Hanji paper', and transmits the traces of the 'Bloom' through her works. In order to reveal the light of life that nature is emitting, the artist uses Hanji, a natural material extracted from nature. She paints each sheet of breathing paper with a long effort to reproduce the resonance and trembling image of light. Through the process of the perseverance, Hanji paper which has a strong pictorial property remains in a space of compromise revealing sophisticated formative beauty. In addition, the colors shown by the artist reveal the movement of the waves, the image spreading in light and colors, and the texture of life. Kim visualizes the vibrations of life, that is, the resonance of the life inherent in nature, which is not visible, but is sensed by an artist's aesthetic sensibility.
