Cari Cohen
Cari Cohen was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and is currently based in North Miami Beach where she makes work that borders two and three dimensions. Inspired by architectural masters Zaha Hadid and Frank Gehry, Cohen’s visual language shares hard-edged lines with curves, inserting the organic into the angular square and breaking the rational towards the new and fantastic. Current projects have been shown at Miami Dade College where she presented her two distinct Series: Art + Light on pure Geometry and Art + Light on Organic evolving, and in 2019 she showed her new work with Art Santa Fe, NM, by Contemporary Art Projects USA. She has largely shown her work at Art Fairs and galleries such as the Wit Gallery, Lenox, MA and has also shown in private and public institutions including Citibank where she had artworks on display at the Aventura and Bal Harbour branches. Cohen received a degree in Architecture from the University of Buenos Aires, also specializing in multimedia design and photography through which she established her own Design firm in architecture and interior design in Buenos Aires, creating projects for international companies. Then in 2001, she relocated to the USA where she completed coursework in painting at Florida International University and Florida Atlantic University, also studying techniques for working with metals. She became American Citizen in 2010 and in 2016, Cohen founded her own creativity Art School, "The Fun Palette", to teach adults and children in a large range of innovative visual art fields. Also in 2016, she became a Certified Art Teacher for Golden and continues to teach along with her studio practice.

More on KAWS: KAWS is an American graffiti artist and designer known for his toys, paintings, and prints. Born Brian Donnelly on November 4, 1974 in Jersey City, NJ, KAWS graduated with a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York and went on to work in animation. “When your whole art is based on the lettering you choose, you kinda figure out what ones work together. I just liked the shapes of the k, a, w, s,” he explained of his moniker. Having started as a graffiti artist in New York in the early 1990s, KAWS began reworking advertisements in his distinctive style. Pop Art and culture permeate his cartoonish Companion series of figurines, which bear a resemblance to the works of Takashi Murakami. KAWS worked together with Nike in 2017 to produce an Air Jordan 4 shoe and has done multiple collaborations with the clothing brand Uniqlo, continuing to blur the boundaries between fine and commercial art. The artist is also known for his large scale public installations, such as 2019’s KAWS: Holiday which was installed in the Hong Kong harbor during Basel Hong Kong. In 2019, THE KAWS ALBUM (2005) sold at auction for a record $14.8 million, breaking his previous record of $2.7 million which was set in 2018. This work is a take on the Beatles' famous 1967 album cover for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, but instead replaced with characters from The Simpsons with the artist's signature Xs drawn across their eyes and skull. After years in the industry, KAWS gained approval from his peers in the street art world and more recently prestige from the museum and gallery worlds. Today, his work can be found in the collections at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and the Rosenblum Collection in Paris. KAWS currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Related Categories: Banksy. Shepard Fairey. Damien Hirst. Pop Art. KAWS sculpture. KAWS brown. KAWS promise...Category

- Pair of 19th C Inuit Male Statues carved in Walrus TuskLocated in brussel, BEThis pair is a fine example of ivory carving done by Inuit natives; Native Americans who live within and just below the Arctic Circle. Each year they procured a substantial amount of ivory from their walrus kills. The raw ivory was usually thrown on top of their huts to weather and properly season. Proper seasoning caused the ivory to dry from the inside out and thus rarely cracks. Hand-made tools were improvised for carving the ivory and bow-string hand drills were also in use. Ivory carving has been practiced by the Inuit for over 2,000 years and traditionally only Inuit men were allowed to carve objects out of ivory, bone, and wood. Artists found their inspiration in daily life and the natural world around them. Ivory items made from walrus tusks...Category

- GryphonBy Damon HyldrethLocated in Napa, CAThe sculptures of Damon Hyldreth appear both static and fluid, rigid and flexible, strong and smooth, effectively blurring the line between nature and structure. By crafting organic forms from an obviously man-made metal, Hyldreth creates a unique symbiosis between nature and structure, unifying the sculpture and the surroundings through the free-flowing energy and architecture of his artworks. Keeping in mind the intimate connection between artists and their tools, Hyldreth studies the potential energies of his metals and coaxes out exquisite forms and natural power. Using mainly stainless steel, as well as the occasional bronze and Cor-ten steel, Hyldreth allows his materials to dictate their final shape and become an ultimate collaboration between man and matter. The evocative forms subliminally draw the audience in, giving every viewer a deeply personal experience. In 2004 Damon received his BFA in Sculpture from San Francisco Art Institute in San Francisco, CA. Public and private installations of Hyldreth’s work include the town of Palm Desert, CA, the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong, The W Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan, Trump Hollywood, Hollywood, FL Neiman Marcus, Houston, TX, Soffitel Hotel, Los Angeles, CA and the Westminster Bridge Park Plaza...Category
