Robin Whiteman
Robin Whiteman’s surreal sculptures play with reality. Without the use of molds, she crafts her animal-human hybrids to examine the duality of religion and myth in storytelling. Robin has worked with clay since the age of eleven. Her sculptures have ranged in size from life sized sculptures to the diminutive porcelain pieces. She has been a resident artist at RIT’s School of American Crafts where she received her degree in ceramics, Maine’s Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts, and has taught extensively throughout the greater Rochester area. Her work is shown nationally and collected internationally. Exhibit A first exhibited Whiteman's work in the gallery's 2016 Black and White Biennial. Robin Whiteman lives in the Finger Lakes region of New York with husband, child, and goats.
