Waiting Years is a Monotype with Chinecolle and displays bold and bright colors to highlight this abstract figurative work of art. This is a new series of monotypes by Charlotte Seifert that she began doing in 2021. It is 1/1 on paper in a custom frame which measures 31 x 23 framed. It is protected by conservation Plexiglass.
Chine-collé or chine collé (French: [ʃin.kɔ.le]) is a printmaking technique in which the image is transferred onto a surface that is bonded onto a heavier support in the printing process. One purpose is to allow the printmaker to print on a much more delicate surface, such as Japanese paper or linen, that pulls finer details off the plate. Another purpose is to provide a background colour behind the image that is different from the surrounding backing sheet.
The final image will depend on the design and ink color of the printed image, the color and opacity of the paper to which the image is directly printed (plus any inclusions such as petals or fibers in that paper), and the color of the backing sheet.
This Houston based artist has been making art for most of her life. She was trained at SMU where she earned her BFA and MFA in painting. Her first art instructor was Roger Winter who was teaching a high school class at the Dallas Museum of Art.
Charlotte's work is largely abstract with landscape and nature elements incorporated into her work. Her inspiration comes from themes in literature, theology and personal history. Evoking an emotion or sense of place is Charlotte's focus rather than depicting a specific setting or rendering a certain object. Nature has become a metaphor for her for the current of constant change in life and love.
Her work has been exhibited in juried shows, one-woman shows and groups exhibitions. Charlotte has been teaching art for many years through private instruction as well as at private a private classical school.(Biography provided by Jack Meier Gallery)

Artist Bio:
Damien Hirst is a British Conceptual artist known for his controversial take on beauty and found-art objects. Along with Liam Gillick, Tracey Emin, and Sarah Lucas, Hirst was part of the Young British Artists movement that rose to prominence in the early 1990s. “I have always been aware that you have to get people listening before you can change their minds,” he reflected. “Any artist's big fear is being ignored, so if you get debate, that's great.” Born on June 7, 1965 in Bristol, United Kingdom, Hirst was raised in Leeds. As a student at Goldsmiths College in London, his work caught the eye of the collector and gallerist Charles Saatchi, who became an early patron. Hirst’s The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living (1991)—a large vitrine containing an Australian tiger shark suspended in formaldehyde—was financed by Saatchi and helped to launch the artist’s career. Hirst went on to win the coveted Turner Prize in 1995. In 2012, he showed what went on to be one of his most controversial work in decades, the installation In and Out of Love, which consisted of two white windowless rooms in which over 9,000 butterflies flitted around and died. In 2015 Hirst opened the Newport Street Gallery in London, which grew from his long-term ambition to share his art collection with the public. The artist lives and works in London, United Kingdom. His works are held in the collections of the Tate Gallery in London, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C., and the Rubell Family Collection in Miami.
