Herb Kornfeld Art
American, b. 1915
Herb Kornfeld was born in Great Falls, Montana, and trained in Los Angeles at the Chouinard School of Art. Kornfeld has journeyed to China, Sweden, France, Greece, England, Mexico, Canada, and throughout the United States, painting the landscape and its architecture as he saw them in colorful, faceted and geometric shapes, alluding to Cubism and Impressionism. In the latter part of his life, Kornfeld returned to California and using a broad, chromatic palette, captured the brilliant light on the coast, hills, valleys of California. With bold use of color and loose, flat brushstrokes — Kornfeld’s uniquely modernist aesthetic presents each piece as a visually arresting interpretation of the moment. Kornfeld's paintings can be found in private and public collections throughout the world. A selection of his exhibitions includes the Long Beach Museum of Art, Downey Museum of Art, U. S. Navy Museum (Washington D.C), C. M. Russell Museum, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and UNICEF.

Bernard Brett, a painter and lithographer, was born in Birmingham. He received his education at Brighton College of Art and later taught at Wolverhampton College of Art from 1951 to 1957. He held the position of Vice Principal at East Surrey College of Art from 1967 to 1975. Brett's artistic contributions included illustrating works published by Curwen Press, and he exhibited his works multiple times at the Royal Academy (RA). In the late 1970s, he is believed to have emigrated to the United States.
Brett's talent extended beyond painting, as he also excelled as a printmaker. His prints, created primarily during the 1960s and 1970s, were known for their vibrant color schemes. His artistic style shared similarities with renowned British artists of his time, including Geoffrey Elliott...
