Sabine - Original Three-Dimensional Wall Art
By Atticus Adams
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Atticus Adams' organically composed modern metal sculptures embody the transformative power of contemporary art, illustrating the creation of beauty, meaning, and emotional impact from industrial materials. Using mostly aluminum mesh—generally found in screen doors, windows, and filters—he creates contemporary abstract sculptural artworks and installations, which resemble flowers, clouds, and other natural phenomena. Working in metal, Adams effortlessly transforms rigid material into airy, effervescent artworks. This 57-inch high by 50-inch wide by 8-inch deep metal sculpture is a lightweight form created from aluminum mesh, gesso, acrylic paint, and wire. It has metal rings affixed on the back which allows for easy installation. Atticus works spontaneously, feeling his way toward the objects that take shape in his mind as he shapes them almost entirely by hand. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Atticus grew up in West Virginia, steeped in traditional folk art. Several members of his family are self-taught artists, deeply involved in such crafts as wood carving and quilting. His formal art training includes stints at Yale, Rhode Island School of Design, and Harvard’s School of Architecture. Atticus has fond summer memories of screened-in porches back home and screen doors that practically dissolved the barrier between inside and outside, allowing the warmth and nature to permeate each day. This association continues to resonate in his art. “Metal mesh is a beautiful, flexible material that allows you to explore shadow and transparency in endless ways,” he says. “The material lends itself to these biomorphic shapes, which aren’t necessarily intentional . . . The sculptures seem fragile but are actually quite resilient—like nature itself.” A well-known sculptor, the organically inspired artworks of Atticus Adams are held in public and private collections and are exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States. Symbol of Memories
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Symbol of Memories 1 is an original painting by Oladimeji Alabi. Oladimeji created the Symbol of Memories with Mixed Media on a 30W by 50H inches primed canvas. The symbol of Memories is inspired by the story of my childhood. The objects and signs we grew up with as a child in our homes become symbols of our memories today. Art has the ability to evoke strong emotions and convey meaningful messages. One such artwork that does just that is "Symbol of Memories," a stunning piece that uses the mother as a symbol of life and hope. This artwork is made even more significant by the use of damask fabric, which was popular among Nigerian women in the late 70s to 90s and used for making gele, the head ties worn by women. The artwork speaks volumes about the importance of mothers in society. The mother is dressed in a vibrant damask fabric, which adds a sense of richness and texture to the painting. The use of damask fabric in the painting is significant as it represents a part of Nigerian culture and history. Damask was a popular fashion among Nigerian women in the late 70s to 90s and was used to make gele, the head ties worn by women on special occasions. The fabric is often associated with elegance, sophistication, and beauty, which adds a layer of meaning to the artwork. The mother in the painting is the focal point of the artwork, symbolizing the importance of mothers in society. Mothers are the backbone of families, providing love, support, and guidance to their children. They are often the ones who hold families together through difficult times, serving as a symbol of hope and resilience. The use of the damask fabric in the painting also represents the concept of memories. The fabric has a rich history in Nigerian culture, and for many people, it is a symbol of their childhood and the memories they hold dear. The painting serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving memories, both good and bad, and how they shape our lives. Overall, "Symbol of Memories" is a beautiful piece of art that celebrates the role of mothers in society. The use of damask fabric adds a layer of meaning to the painting, representing the importance of preserving memories and the rich culture of Nigeria. The mother as a focused subject symbolizes life and hope, the fabric applied in this art is called damask, which was a popular fashion among Nigerian women around the late 70s to 90s used for making gele(the head ties). Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (Issued by the Gallery) About Artist Oladimeji Alabi is an experimental contemporary visual artist based in Lagos. 18th Century New England Cartographer's Office - Kupjack Studios Miniature Room
By Henry "Hank" Kupjack
Located in Chicago, IL
Cartography, the study and practice of making and using maps, was at the cutting edge in the 18th-century, helping to shape and define a world rapidly coming into focus. Over the course of the century, exploration and colonization expanded the scope of the known world, especially in the Pacific and the Americas. Advances in geography enabled cartographers to map these new discoveries with increasing accuracy. The days of conjecture and myth in cartography were fast coming to an end. Here, the Kupjack Studios has captured this discipline with exacting details. From the smallest of tools, to the rolls of maps and maps in progress displayed on the desk, the world of miniatures comes to life and brings us into a bygone era. Kupjack Miniatures 18th Century New England Cartographer, circa. 2008 mixed media 14h x 26.25w x 14.75d in 35.56h x 66.67w x 37.47d cm KJK001 Eugene Kupjack and his sons Hank and Jay created museum quality miniature rooms in their studio outside of Chicago for many years. Hank and Jay learned the at their father’s side as he assisted Mrs. Narcissa Niblack Thorne with the creation her many miniature rooms now housed at The Art Institute of Chicago. Almost every piece of molding, furniture, rugs, and accessory items that are contained in their rooms are designed and created by hand. In addition to designing and building rooms they would sometimes work to restore the rooms built many years ago by their father and Mrs. Thorne. Their work can be seen in various museums as far away as Turkey where they were exhibited in 2009. In the United States their work can be seen in the permanent collections of The Kentucky Museum Center, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Philadelphia Art Museum...
