Jörg Krichbaum Art
German, 1945-2002
Jörg Krichbaum completed an apprenticeship as a photographer and then worked as a photojournalist. He then studied German philology, philosophy and art history at the University of Göttingen. From 1974 to 1978 he worked as a dramaturge in Göttingen. Since 1978 he lived as a freelance writer in Munich. During the eighties he published a number of literary texts. In 1984 he took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt. In addition, he was a member of the editorial board of various photo magazines. From 1985 to 1987, Krichbaum worked as a marketing consultant for industrial companies. From 1989 he organized architectural congresses, at the same time he published publications on architectural theory and history. In 1995/96 he was cultural commissioner for the EXPO 2000 in Hanover. Since the end of the nineties, he has been mainly concerned with the publication of Internet address books. Krichbaum was also active as a hobby painter and professional photographer.
Jörg Krichbaum's literary work mainly includes narrative works and poems.
Jörg was a member of the Association of German Writers. In 1981 he received the Toucan Prize of the City of Munich,in 1982 a scholarship from the Villa Massimo in Rome and in the same year the Advancement Prize of the Free State of Bavaria. In 1993 he received the Hugo Erfurth Prizetogether with William Klein and Anton Corbijn.(Biography provided by Brussels Art Edition)
