Jules Monge Art
1855-1934
Jules Monge was born in Marseille, France, on December 26th, 1855. He was the pupil of Alexandre Cabanel in Marseille. He makes many portraits and military scenes. Monge exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1881 to 1933 and achieved many successes. He also exhibited in provincial towns. During the interwar period, he visited China and painted scenes of everyday life. Monge died in Paris on July 1st, 1934.
