Porto low tables are composed of a circular top that seems to rest on a sturdy oblong base. Lightness and weight overlap creating a harmonic and unconventional monoblock. The unagreement between the geometry of the elements generates irregular pieces capable of evoking movement, as they elude the gaze, changing according to the viewing angle. Elegant like jewellery, the Ring coffee tables are inspired by raw cuts of precious stones prior to being mounted into rings. The choice of materials is aimed to emphasise this inspiration behind the collection. The metal base structures are available in several variants each of which corresponds to a geometric form. Like in jewellery design, the glass tops in transparent or light colours are literally set onto the base structures. Serena is an indipendent designer and art director based in Milano. She works on product, graphic and textile design projects and collaborates with many italian and international companies. Her works are placed in-between product and graphic design: an accurate research on the surfaces is always present in her projects. After a Master Degree in Interior Design, she started her career working in many architecture and design practices in Milano, Barcelona and Berlin, and collaborating with the Interior Design Faculty of Politecnico di Milano as assistant professor.
