Bestor Architecture is a flexible practice that makes tactical transformations to the built environment of Los Angeles. We design uniquely shaped building envelopes, we employ graphic and atmospheric techniques and we make architecture that resonates. In order to engage with today’s digital urban citizen we design new forms of cultural interaction through space planning, curating, historical stewardship and commercial programming. In designing atmospheric buildings and spaces we hope to create a deeper and richer experience of everyday city life. We combine the more communitarian principles of modernism with a unique combination of high and low influences outside of architectural discourse. Through our architectural designs, full-scale installations, collaborative graphics, and modes of 2D/3D representation we are engaging in our rapidly changing city as active participants. Recent projects include headquarters for Beats By Dre and Nasty Gal, Blackbirds, stores for Clare V and Sleepy Jones, and Intelligentsia Coffee and Tea. New work includes the renovation of John Lautner's Silvertop and the Jules Salkin Residence, Trina Turk in Hawaii, Silverlake Conservatory and multiple custom residences.
