Oscar de la Renta Multicolor Floral Short Sleeve Ballerina Skirt Suit - M, 1980s
About the Item
Featuring a full circle skirt with a nearly 13-foot sweep, this ensemble's fit and flare silhouette is modernized by an on-trend shorter length and eye-catching graphic print. The heavyweight cotton jacquard fabric not only keeps the suit perky all day, but also adds a subtle tonal pattern to the weave itself for even more interest.
Two-piece suit including short sleeve peplum jacket and voluminous matching circle skirt. Collarless jacket features oversized (1 ½”) shoulder pads, plunging V-neck front and princess seams front and back for flared peplum effect; banded short sleeves and ornamental flap pockets each hip. Four button front closure; fully lined in white acetate. Skirt features plain waistband and voluminous full circle sweep; on seam pockets both sides. Tabbed waistband with hook and bar closure and snap beneath, plus interior hook and eye at waist; skirt unlined.

noteworthy: ***very important*** though care tag states “dry clean with perchloroethylene,” dry cleaning will cause print to run and ruin garment. Items must be machine washed (gentle cycle) on the hottest water temperature setting and IMMEDIATELY hung outside to dry; do not tumble dry. Iron with starch.
alterations: shortened skirt to conceal damage at hem; jacket was let out 1 ½” at rear princess seams by original owner
