Chinese Cloisonné small Vase with flowers & bird, Circa 1920

About the Item

This is a very decorative small cloisonné vase, made in China and dating to the first quarter of the 20th Century. The vase has a good globular baluster shape. It has been well made of a bronze alloy with rich enamels of many different colours, set into a turquoise - blue ground. The main decoration shows a floral shrub growing from a stony base with different coloured flowers. The reverse shows a bird in flight. There are lappet borders above the base rim and below the neck. Overall a very decorative cloisonne vase with a very good shape, decoration and no damage.

    This is a hand painted 17th century, late Ming dynasty, porcelain Jar or small Vase which we attribute to the Hatcher shipwreck cargo, this piece being from the Wanli /transitional period, circa 1625- 1640.
