A large Chinese famille noire porcelain vase and original hardwood stand.
About the Item
This most decorative large Chinese famille noire vase or possibly a walking stick stand dates to circa 1930 and it is richly decorated over a black enamel background (noire) with thick brightly coloured hand painted enamels with exotic birds, flowers and fruit amongst dense green foliage. In addition, there is a traditionally designed boarder around the base and rim which finishes this impressive piece beautifully.
The vase includes the original high quality hand carved hardwood stand which has a wonderful rich patina.
The vase has a red seal mark on its base.
Please note there is an original firing blemish on the rim which shows some discolouration but no damage and a slight fault to the base rim which appears to be in the manufacture.
The vase is in excellent condition with no restoration.
