Provincial Chinese Two Drawer Table, circa 1850

About the Item

Used as a family altar table or for general storage, this 19th century coffer is decorated with intricate carvings of round chrysanthemum blossoms, symbols of autumn and joviality. The table rests on straight legs that link to the rectangular table top with delicate trailing vine spandrels. The original dark lacquer finish has aged beautifully over a century of use, for a weathered appearance that only time can achieve. Additional dimensions: Top drawer: 25.5" W x 18" D x 6" H Bottom drawers: 11.5" W x 17.75" D x 5" H.
