Large Japanese Bronze and Mixed Metal Vase After Suzuki Chokichi
About the Item
As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this large and unusual form Meiji Period (1868-1912), bronze and mixed metal vase manufactured in the style of Suzuki Chokichi, the large bronze vase rests within a fitted base with legs designed as mythical sea creatures , the base, legs and lower band of the vase inlaid in mixed metals in archaic style. The main body of the vase depicts a bird in flight amidst foliage and ripened pomegranate fruits, this vibrant mixture of autumnul patination finely worked in a manner typical of the works of the Imperial artist Suzuki Chokichi. A very fine decorative mixed metal bronze vase that would sit well within a room of your choice or as an addition to your existing Japanese metalwork collection.
