Vintage Large Standing Burmese Mandalay Giltwood Buddha with Mirrored Insets
About the Item
A lovely vintage 20th c., carved and giltwood standing Burmese Mandalay Buddha, with green and clear mirrored inlaid details, on wooden stand.
The Buddha is depicted standing with a palm held up facing outward signifying the act of teaching or reassurance. The carved statue has a meditative face, studded hair with rounded ushnisha, and is wearing a kasaya robe embellished with clear mirrored "jewels". The Buddha stands on a circular lotus base mounted on a black wooden pedestal.
This vintage standing Buddha has a lovely serene countenance. One can not help but be drawn to it upon sight.

Condition:
Good, some cracks to wood, some gilding rubs and wear, minor losses to mirrored decoration, all consistent with age and use. Shows well. Ready to place.
