Large Contemporary Cast Bronze Krater Urn on Pedestal with Mythological Figures
About the Item
A large contemporary classical themed cast bronze urn on pedestal with lion handles. Featuring a tall silhouette, this exquisite urn was cast with the traditional lost-wax technique (à la cire perdue), allowing a great precision in the details. Reminiscent of the Medici vase, this krater is adorned with gadrooned motifs on its rim and an abundance of foliage on its belly. Two elegant lion heads hold a handle in their mouth. The acanthus leaves of the base help our eye to transition to the circular pedestal on which the vase is raised. Featuring various mythological characters including a Nike (Victory figure), surrounded by chubby putti, the pedestal shows a profusion of décor that brings our imagination back in ancient times. With its exceptional details, lovely bronze patina and great proportions, this tall cast bronze urn from the 21st century will be a wonderful decorative accent in any home, particularly in a garden or an entryway. Please allow 14-16 weeks for production.
